Sofia Liu Memorial Fund

On Tuesday, December 31, 2013, the life of 6-year-old Sofia Liu was tragically cut short.

Sofia was crossing the street with her mother and brother near the intersection of Ellis and Polk in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District when they were struck by a car. Sofia’s mother and brother survived the accident, but were seriously injured.

Sofia and her brother were former students at Wu Yee Children’s Services, and both went through the Infant and Preschool programs.

Our hearts go out to Liu family during this difficult time.

Wu Yee has set up a trust in Sofia’s honor to help the Liu family pay for funeral and medical expenses. Donations can be sent to:

Sofia Liu Fund
c/o Bank of the West
505 Montgomery Street
San Francisco, CA 94111
Attn: Penney Tanoto

Sherman Elementary School, where Sofia was in first grade, has also set up a memorial fund. Donations can be sent online.

Update: As of 1/27/2014, we have raised over $25,000 for the Wu Yee Sofia Liu Fund. Thank you for your generous donations.
