			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wu Yee Children’s Services is a non-profit family and children’s services agency founded in 1977. Our mission is to create opportunities for children to be healthy, for families to thrive, and for communities to be strong. The Head Start and Early Head Start program provide services to pregnant women and children from birth to five years old.</p>
<p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop family partnerships to empower families to identify strengths and needs to set realistic goals for themselves and their family.</li>
<li>Maintain regular communication with appropriate program staff and families to facilitate effective program performance and ensure that signification family information is shared, including but not limited to: family goals, issues, concerns, challenges, and successes.</li>
<li>Maintain regular monthly communication with families through individual meetings, home visits, phone calls , group activities, or written communication to promote family partnership</li>
<li>Prepare written communication for families, i.e., flyers, newsletters and referral documents as needed.</li>
<li>Facilitate and support the enrollment process with ERSEA and Center Manager to ensure full enrollment</li>
<li>Support families in completing developmental screenings of children.</li>
<li>Provide crisis intervention to families and communicate with appropriate staff as needed.</li>
<li>Support family participation in program governance process and ensure parent representation at the Policy Council and Parent Committee Meetings</li>
<li>Coordinate parent orientations, meetings and family involvement opportunities with Center Manager and program staff</li>
<li>Maintain information in children’s files and in ChildPlus to reflect accurate and most current case records, family and emergency contact, health and family-partnership requirements.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field and minimum of two years experience in family social services setting, including knowledge and experience relating to community resources for referrals to families in need of services.</li>
<li>Bilingual in Cantonese/English required</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Skill in dealing with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner.</li>
<li>Knowledge of early childhood education and intervention</li>
<li>Computer literacy and familiarity with various applications such as basic word processing and e-mail</li>
<li>Able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:</strong><br />
Salary depending on experience plus 18 PTO days, full cafeteria plan for health, dental and numerous other benefits.</p>

<p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide direction, guidance, orientation, and training to the Center Managers and the Site Supervisor to ensure the agency and program vision, direction, policies, regulations, are met and adhered to</li>
<li>Ensure that appropriate systems and procedures are in place to support program needs and goals; identify and develop professional growth opportunities for staff by appropriately planning with the Program Director the allocation of funds across centers</li>
<li>Together with the Program Director, evaluate program parameters using Head Start performance standards, state, and local contract requirements to improve program performance</li>
<li>Develop appropriate strategies for overcoming barriers to program improvement based on monitoring results, monthly reports, staff and parent input</li>
<li>Ensure that the centers are in compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards, particularly those of Head Start, Early Head Start, Community Care Licensing, and state preschool programs</li>
<li>Oversee the handling of all center based community complaints, forwarding escalated concerns to the Program Director as identified in the community complaint and grievance procedures</li>
<li>Monitor key operations functions that impact program to ensure compliance with program and agency policies and procedures and the fiscal health of the department.</li>
<li>Provide oversight of a Child Development Center in the absence of the site Center Manager</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A valid Child Development Site Supervisor Permit</li>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, CAD or related field</li>
<li>Minimum of two years of successful supervisory experience in an early childhood program</li>
<li>Capacity to plan, deliver and implement and evaluate early childhood training</li>
<li>Experience working with culturally diverse staff and families desired</li>
<li>A team builder with strong skills in management and leadership; must understand the subtleties of motivating and directing a diverse group of personalities;</li>
<li>Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds</li>
</ul>

The Head Start and Early Head Start program provide services to pregnant women and children from birth to five years old. Our teaching positions functions as a member of a team providing classroom services to children in our centers located in Chinatown, the Tenderloin, and Visitation Valley.</p>
<p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Assist in the planning, implementation and documentation of a developmentally appropriate program for children</li>
<li>Ensure and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing classroom environment</li>
<li>Prepare materials that highlight the interests and development of the children</li>
<li>Develop trusting relationships with children and parents</li>
<li>Assist prepare ongoing records and assessments of children’s development</li>
<li>Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and attend parent conferences</li>
<li>Participate in a multi-disciplinary team approach</li>
<li>Contribute to ongoing development and evaluation of center’s goals and objectives</li>
<li>Attend parent meetings, in-service trainings, and events</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A valid California Child Development Associate Teacher permit OR eligible for permit application</li>
<li>Bilingual in Spanish/English Required</li>
<li>Experience working with young children and with a diverse population</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and other staff</li>
<li>Good communication, problem solving, and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive and professional attitude.</li>
<li>CPR and First Aid certificates required</li>
<li>Able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds</li>
</ul>
