Family Services Department
The Department of Family Services partners with families by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services to promote positive parenting, child care access, self-advocacy, and family economic self sufficiency.
Through our Resource and Referral (R&R), Child Care Subsidies, and Joy Lok Family Resource Center, the department supports families through different family developmental stages. Below are some examples of how our department can help you:
-
If your family has a new baby and you want to interact with other new moms and learn about infant development, you can join our Mommy and Me group at R&R.
-
If you have a toddler who is not in child care, but you want to expose your child to a fun, interactive learning environment, and at the same time learn activities you can conduct with your child at home, you can join our Toddler playgroups at R&R.
-
If you and your child are ready for child care, but need support in child care information and referrals, you can contact our R&R program.
-
If you are a new immigrant family and need support with learning about available community resources and benefits, you can contact our R&R program.
-
If you are having challenges with paying for child care, you can contact our Child Care Subsidies program
-
If you are interested in learning about leadership and advocacy opportunities, and child development and community resources topics, you can contact Joy Lok Family Resource Center.
