Home Based Programs

• Our Early Head Start Home-Based Program provides comprehensive Head Start services through weekly home visits, working with a child’s parents or a pregnant woman and her family. The Home-Based Program Specialist and family work together to promote the child’s healthy growth and development. Enrolled families also participate in group socialization activities twice a month. The Home-Based program serves pregnant women and children up to the age of three.

Home-Based Program

  • For pregnant women and children under age 3, including children with disabilities
  • Support services for stay-at-home parents
  • Weekly home visits from a specialist, monthly socialization opportunities

The Home-Based program is designed for expectant mothers, young children (ages 0-3), and children with disabilities. Funded by Early Head Start, this program provides access to a Home-Based Specialist who helps families prepare for new babies and properly care for their family. Unlike typical child care programs,  parents in the Home-Based program remain at home to care for their own children, supported by the Home-Based Specialist’s in-home visits to provide regular guidance on parenting and child care. Families enrolled in the Home-Based program also participate in group socialization activities including field trips, educational sessions, and opportunities for children to interact with peers and explore new settings.

Children enrolled in the Home-Based program are given high priority for open slots in our Family Child Care and Center-Based program options.
