Food Program
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) has been established by the federal government and administered by the California Department of Education. Wu Yee is a Food Program sponsor recipient in San Francisco dedicated to providing financial support to licensed Family Child Care Providers while supporting quality child care to ensure that children receive nutritious and well-balanced meals. Services include:
- Provide monthly reimbursements to providers for serving healthy meals meeting the USDA program requirements;
- Support licensed family child care through site visits, answering questions and assisting providers to successfully operate their family child care in the day-to-day caring for children;
- Assist providers in menu planning which meets the USDA approved meal guidelines;
- Provide ongoing nutrition education workshops and trainings to program participants;
- Provide bilingual resource materials and nutritious recipes for age-appropriated children
Participation requirements:
- Be a licensed Family Child Care Provider in San Francisco
- Attend Food Program Orientation
- Serve nutritious USDA approved meals
- Maintain attendance and record of meals served daily
- Participate in annual nutrition training
