Provider Services Department

Wu Yee Children's Services provides education and support to over 1400 providers of early childhood care and education each year. Our programs support the highest quality of care for children in all three settings where they receive care: licensed family child care homes, licensed exempt settings, and center-based care. We distribute over $4 million, annually, directly to providers, through our Provider Services Department.

Our education programs include trainings, workshops, and on-site technical assistance. For license-exempt and family child care providers, a series of topics are covered throughout the year ranging from basic health and safety to licensing regulations and sound business practices to early childhood development and managing difficult behaviors. We assist families and providers in finding and providing appropriate care for children with special needs.

Our support components include a stipend program that provides guidance and financial incentive for professionals to continue their education and professional development. We provide scholarships to offset child care start-up costs and the costs of professional development. There are two toy lending libraries where providers can borrow developmentally appropriate high quality toys and books for their program. Over 120 family child care providers per year are given both educational and financial support through our Food Program.
