Provider Training & Support

Wu Yee provides a variety of services supporting child care providers offering care in home-based settings.  Licensed family child providers, those wanting to open a family child care home, and family, friends and neighbors caring for children informally (license-exempt providers) can all benefit from our training and technical assistance with our training specialists.  Our training specialists are bilingual in English and Chinese and most of our workshops are presented in Cantonese.

Our services include:

  • Support and training related to becoming a licensed family child care provider.
  • Support with expanding a family child care business.
  • Ongoing technical assistance and training that offer professional development opportunities family child care providers already in the field.
  • Workshops on a variety of topics including health and safety, nutrition, child development, literacy, asthma, creating quality childcare environments, developmentally appropriate materials, and many more.
  • Grants promoting business start-up, health and safety and quality of care.

Services are open to child care providers offering care in San Francisco. 

**We are pleased to announce that scholarship funds from the California Department of Education, Child Development Division are available to assist licensed center-based staff, family child care providers, and license-exempt providers  in completing the 15 hours of prescribed training as outlined in AB 243, which includes pediatric CPR, pediatric first aid, prevention of infectious diseases and prevention policies, preventative health practices and injury prevention, as well as providers seeking CPR re-certification.
