Single Stop Coordinator

The Single Stop Coordinator is responsible for outreach to potential clients, benefits screening and referring clients to external service providers for legal and financial counseling. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Single Stop through a combination of direct service and program coordination
  • Oversees and coordinates integration of partnering service providers into holistic service provision
  • Ensures that the Single Stop contract is adhered to; works closely with Joy Lok Manager on its compliance.
  • Conducts or supervises outreach to affiliate programs and coordinates flow of residents/participants into Single Stop
  • Conducts or supervises intake and assessment for Single Stop clients and facilitates referrals to partnering service providers
  • Ensures that follow-up with both clients and partnering agencies occurs regarding referrals and outcomes
  • Ensures the proper documentation of all client contact, referrals, and outcomes in computer database
  • Coordinates annual Free Tax Preparation and client appointments with legal and financial counselors
  • Collects and manages Single Stop data and produces reports for Wu Yee and SingleStop
  • Conducts workshops to the community on SingleStop, Wu Yee Children’s Services, child development and public benefit topics
  • Provides child care and community resource and referral information to families
  • Provide translation and interpretation of materials as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bilingual Cantonese/English strongly preferred
  • Training in social work and/or counseling required
  • Experience working with large client population strongly preferred
  • Experience with and commitment to working with low-income families and individuals
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Organizational and problem solving skills, able to deal with ambiguous situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborative and build positive/effective partnerships
  • Strategic thinking, influencing, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong judgment; Able to formulate opinions, compare and decide; has good sense
  • Successful establishment and growth of site: will have hit target numbers of individuals screened for benefits
  • Will provide insight and implement how best to measure other outcomes as a result of clients receiving coordinated services
  • Deepened relationship between SSUSA with Wu Yee Children’s Services
  • High follow-through and completion rates for benefits enrollment and referrals
  • Innovative outreach activities
  • Strong contribution to performance management and learning communities within Wu Yee Children’s Services, the region, and the national network of other Single Stop sites.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Masters of Social Work or equivalent strongly preferred / required
