If you read a great book, you'll probably want to snuggle in

On Friday, February 28, 2014 we had a very special afternoon event at our Bayview Child Development Center in honor of World Book Day. Parents and family members were invited for an afternoon of reading and learning called "Jammies, Books and Blankets."

We read If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Numeroff together, and snuggled in with cozy blankets. We also spent some time reading one-on-one with our teachers and family. After that, we made paper mouse puppets (with felt and glitter) and graham cracker mice with chocolate spread and raisins, cereal and mini-crackers.

At the end of all the activities, each child got to choose a book to take home as a special gift.

Wu Yee Children's Day at the Bay Area Discovery Museum

On Saturday, April 5, 2014, Wu Yee Children’s Services kicked off The Week of the Young Child™ (April 6-12, 2014) with a day of family fun at the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM).

Wu Yee Children’s Day at the Bay Area Discovery Museum was a great opportunity for families to learn about the value of play and to explore the museum together. Wu Yee staff presented family workshop sessions in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

Sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the purpose of the Week of the Young Child™ is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

Special thanks to the Bay Area Discovery Museum, for making this lovely day possible!
