Early Childhood Education (ECE) Career Pathway Program 

The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Career Pathway Program is a collaboration between Jewish Vocational Services (JVS), City College of San Francisco (CCSF), and Wu Yee Children's Services. This new exciting program is exclusively for parents between the ages 18-24 who have children connected to Wu Yee.

ECE Career Pathway Program Opportunities:

  • Parents connect and/or reconnect to college Child Development (CDEV) classes at CCSF
  • 65 hours of Internship experience at CCSF's CDEV Lab School
  • Obtain a CA Child Development Associate Teacher Permit, within an academic school year
  • 50 days/3hrs per day of WBL (work based learning), internship coaching and experience at a Wu Yee Child Development Center
  • Earn up to $1,000 scholarship for completion of program requirements

ECE Career Pathway Program Goals:

1st Semester Goals:

  • Goal 1. Complete steps and program requirements to enroll in program
  • Goal 2. Complete 6 CDEV units and 65 internship hours at CCSF
  • Goal 3. Apply for CA Child Development Assistant Teacher Permit Level

2nd Semester Goals:

  • Goal 1. Attend WBL Internship Orientation at Wu Yee and start WBL coaching sessions and practices at a Wu Yee Child Development Center
  • Goal 2. Complete 6 more CDEV units (12 CDEV units in total) and complete 50 days of work experience at Wu Yee Child Development Center
  • Goal 3. Upgrade CA Child Development Assistant Teacher Permit level to Associate Teacher level
  • Goal 4. Complete employment preparation steps (write resume, cover letter, mock-interview prep, interview attire, job application, interview)
